BlogsforTerri

BlogsforTerri contains a list of sites dedicated to furthering the fight for Terri Schindler-Schiavo's life. Remember that time is running out for her: Judge George Greer ruled that the feeding tube that provides her with nourishment and hydration is to be withheld starting on March 18th.

There is still action we can take in the fight to keep her from being starved to death -- a painful end that would have activists screaming if we were to try to apply it to someone on death row, say, but which is somehow acceptable for an innocent woman unable to defend herself.

First, if you are in Florida, contact your state legislature and tell them that you support HB 701. This bill will be introduced today, and asserts that incapacitated persons without other standing directives in writing, are to be presumed to desire necessary nutrition and hydration from caregivers. It could save Terri.

Next, get hold of your representatives at the Federal level and tell them to get behind Bill 1151, "Incapacitated Person's Legal Protection Act". This post at BlogsforTerri has the details.

Remember that Terri is NOT brain dead, and she is NOT in a vegetative state: she laughs, cries, and tries to speak with her parents. It is very well documented that she has a good chance for rehabilitation.

Finally, the petition calling for Judge George W. Greer's impeachment has a point-by-point outline of his misbehavior from the bench. Sign it.

Well, I called my Senators and signed the petition to have Judge Greer impeached. If they would just get a new judge that would look at all the facts I would be happy. I hope this bill gets passed before they remove Terri's feeding tube. There is just too much life in this woman to have her die at the hands of people who don't care for her. I pray for her and her family daily. Lucy Stern

How many people out there would be willing to live the way Terri is living or should I say existing and would want your family to stand by and watch you lay there without talking or moving for years and years? If she was communicating, as her mother said she was, then why haven't they asked her if she wants to go on existing as she is? I've seen her in the same position every time they have shown her on tv. Her hands haven't moved and she doesn't seem to respond. I think she should go to GOD and rest in a better place than she is now. I believe what the doctors say about her. I pray for her and her family and hope that GOD interviens and does what's best for Terri.

You're both misinformed.

Rather than relying on mainstream media for your information, I suggest you get out to Terrisfight.org to see some videotape that was barred from court proceedings presided over by Judge George Greer.

Also, BlogsforTerri will provide you with many of the resources you need to expand your understanding of the complete picture.

As for Terri being with God, that is a given. I protest the means whereby she is being sent to Him/Her. It was one thing to order to removal of the feeding tube, and another to order that nourishment and hydration be withheld by mouth. God's will doesn't involve denying a human being any chance at survival. The human organism will fail it it is denied fuel. That isn't God's Will, ladies. That's murder.

You cannot be positive that she is not feeling pain, and I am sure that you may well be among those who loudly damn the events at Guantanimo Bay and at Abu Ghraib. Since you cannot be POSITIVE that starvation is not agonizing for this woman, how can you approve treatment that you would protest if it were applied to a terrorist or a dog?

I can tell that you ladies are well-meaning, and I believe that you merely need to check deeper into the suppressed and eyebrow-lifting facts of this case in order to question the justice of recent events.

May the Gods bless and guide you in your quest for truth.

Wow, listen to your self righteous outrage! She doesn't have a functioning brain. Except for the part that control autonomic fuctions. That what a persistant vegitative state is. I doubt that a person with a functioning brain stem and nothing else is "feeling pain".
